“Altus Severe Weather Information Program set for Thursday KWHW AM/FM Participating Area residents will have the opportunity to learn about severe weather from a number of experts including area emergency managers, the area #Skywarn program, KWHW Radio, and the US National Weather Service Norman Oklahoma, according to emergency management officials. The training is offered free of charge at the Southwest Technology Center, 711 W Tamarack, Altus, OK beginning at 6 p.m. February 16. The local Skywarn group will be on hand to help area residents with their “weather radios”. Area media will be offering tips on how to obtain weather information locally before the National Weather Service webinar presents life-saving information via webinar. Area emergency managers will be on hand to describe local warning information including the free “Alert Altus” process at http://bit.ly/2lPWZFZ. Also, Erick Mowbray, area emergency management volunteer, and Lloyd Colston, City of Altus Emergency Management director, will be on-hand with current information obtained from their attendance at the National Tornado Summit​ this week.
